The soaring 20’s
Non-profit mentoring programme, Fast Forward 15 raised over £5000 at their first ever virtual event, the soaring 20’s. Over 300 event professionals tuned in to the fundraiser which celebrated 100 years of inspirational women, featuring motivating talks and live performances from Lips Choir and Girls Rock London.
Every year the Fast Forward 15 mentees are challenged with creating an event for those in the event industry but with no budget. This year the team had already planned their 1920’s themed soiree at two-temple place in London and were all set to go, however due to the ongoing global pandemic they had to cancel, like most in the events industry.
The team had two choices, they could postpone the event again, not knowing when the guidelines would be lifted, or look at doing something they hadn’t done before – going virtual. The team accepted the challenge and with digital being the new normal they decided to make the switch and host an online event instead.
Sparq were more than happy to support when the Fast Forward 15 team got in touch, after all, we’ve been delivering digital events for over a decade. We worked together and built a platform to suit their needs which featured everything from a social stream, the running order, individual bios for each speaker and a live chat function which allowed the attendees to network like they would at a live event.
The event was a great night and had over 300 event professionals tune in for the night of inspirational talks, auctions and live performances. The event raised over £5,000 for Girls Rock London, and organisation aimed to empower girls to perform and write their own music building self-esteem and confidence.

We were nervous pivoting to a digital event, none of us had worked on them before and we didn't want to let the charity down by not raising as much as we could have live. We needn't have worried, having Sparq as support for the event made the whole process so much fun and we loved seeing our vision come to life in digital form. On the night everything was seamless and we created such amazing engagement integrating social media with the event platform, the feedback we have from event industry professionals speaks for itself."
